Che si tratti di volare veloci, di scolpire in profondità una superficie d'onda o di pompare e collegarsi con le onde in downwinder - AXIS Power Carbon entra in un nuovo regno di controllo e connessione tra tavola e Foil.

Durante i primi test ART foil, il team di ricerca si è rapidamente reso conto che i rapporti di aspetto più elevati e le campate di lamina più ampie applicavano più forze di piegatura e torsione all'albero. Così, mentre le pellicole ART erano un punto di svolta anche sui nostri alberi esistenti, sapevamo che c'era ancora un enorme potenziale inutilizzato da sfruttare.

E così iniziò un nuovo progetto di sviluppo, e non potevamo essere più entusiasti del risultato. Con un nuovo profilo di potenza e un'accurata selezione e posizionamento dei materiali, AXIS Power Carbon offre sia una rigidità che una resistenza di livello superiore.

Optando per un design monopezzo, abbiamo evitato i problemi di flusso/ resistenza e giunzione associati alle costruzioni di alberi multi-part.

Inoltre e soprattutto, i test dimostrano che il carico massimo è concentrato vicino alla piastra di base e questo è il motivo per cui il mast si assottiglia a questo punto per gestire i carichi. Qualsiasi giunzione o costruzione in due pezzi in questa zona di carico elevato distruggerebbe l'integrità dell'albero.

Un design rivisto della connessione della fusoliera massimizza le dimensioni del punto di attacco per ottenere una perfetta aderenza alla fusoliera riducendo qualsiasi possibilità di movimento indesiderato.

Il risultato è una sensazione di connessione positiva, azionamento diretto, feedback immediato e controllo finale.

La nuova fibra di carbonio High Modulus utilizzata nel nostro layup dell'albero è notevolmente più rigida e più resistente della normale fibra di carbonio utilizzata nelle costruzioni convenzionali. Il posizionamento innovativo, ponderato ed equilibrato dei materiali nel processo di produzione proprietario, abbinato a test rigorosi, ha offerto un salto di prestazioni mozzafiato.  

Le caratteristiche di guida sono così rivoluzionarie che è stata una lotta convincere i piloti del team a restituire i prototipi dopo i test!

Il feedback conteneva affermazioni come "una sensazione molto più positiva e connessa", "feedback immediato" e "controllo definitivo".

I nostri nuovi alberi sono disponibili in due modelli, il Power Carbon e il Power Carbon - High Modulus , quest'ultimo che fornisce ulteriore resistenza e il 35% in più di resistenza alla flessione rispetto al nostro albero in alluminio da 19 mm leader del settore. 

L'High Modulus sarà l'albero preferito dai rider più esigenti che cercano le massime prestazioni e dai rider più pesanti che usano le nostre lamine più larghe.

AXIS Power Carbon Masts. 

The AXIS ART high aspect foil range was the single biggest foiling advancement to date. It delivered more speed, more glide and razor-sharp turning with industry-leading ease of ride. 

But 2022 is the year of the mast. The AXIS Power Carbon mast. 

Whether winging at speed, laying deep carves on a wave face or pumping and linking up swells on a downwinder – AXIS Power Carbon enters a new realm of control and connection between board and foil.

High aspect foils = higher loads on masts

During early ART foil testing, our research team quickly realized that higher aspect ratios and broader foil spans applied more bending and twisting forces to the mast. So while ART foils were a game-changer even on our existing masts, we knew there was still huge untapped potential to be realized.

And so began a whole new development project, and we couldn’t be more excited at the result. With a new power profile and carefully considered material selection and placement, AXIS Power Carbon delivers both superior stiffness with next-level strength.

Opting for a one-piece design, we avoided the flow/drag and jointing issues associated with multi-part mast constructions.

Additionally and more importantly, testing proves that maximum loading is concentrated close to the baseplate and this is why the mast tapers thicker at this point to handle the loads. Any joins or two-piece construction at this high load area would destroy the integrity of the mast. 

A revised fuselage connection design maximizes the size of the attachment point to achieve a perfect fit to the fuselage reducing any chance of unwanted movement.

The result is a positive connected feel, direct drive, immediate feedback and ultimate control. High aspect foils perform as they should, feel and control enter an entirely new realm.

The new High Modulus Carbon fibre used in our mast layup is considerably stiffer and stronger than the regular carbon fibre used in conventional constructions. Innovative, considered and balanced placement of materials in our proprietary production process paired with rigorous testing has delivered a breathtaking performance leap.

Ride characteristics are so game-changing, that it’s been a struggle to get our team riders to return the prototypes after testing!

Feedback featured claims like ‘a way more positive and connected feel’, ‘immediate feedback’ and ‘ultimate control’.

Choose your Power level

Our new masts are available in two models, the Power Carbon and Power Carbon - High Modulus, the latter providing additional strength and 35% more bend resistance than our industry-leading 19mm aluminium mast. The High Modulus will be the mast of choice for the most discerning rider seeking ultimate performance, and heavier riders using our larger span foils.

With AXIS Power Carbon masts, riders will finally be at one with the foil.

AXIS Power Carbon Masts have a new and greatly improved base connection design. While fully compatible with all existing Red & Black fuselage, a new installation technique/method is required, this involves simply inserting the mast leading edge first into the fuselage opening, then rotating the trailing edge down. Removal is done in reverse, trailing edge rotates out first... super simple!

Remember use only 30mm M8 bolts to attach fuselage to Power Carbon masts
